Get out of the sand, every time!

There are two concepts that will help a new golfer get out of the sand almost every time. The first is skimming the sole of the sand wedge through the impact area. Find a firm area on the grass and start making swings where the golfer hits the ground. If they take a divot, then they are leading with the leading edge. The second concept is hitting the same location behind the ball very consistently. Draw a line (about 2 in.) behind the ball, and then hit some shots. If the golfer can learn to hit the sand within about an inch of the line repeatedly, then they are in good shape.
